Sometimes I forget I have a website but then I’m invited to verify plus myself on an ad platform and decide to write about it
I mean, I don’t really forget I have this.
I pay for it every year: See?
Me envisioning you reacting to this: your reaction
Many businesses have websites to promote their businesses, this is not new.
Sometimes I forget that it’s an SEO tool, a front face for my business, a taster or ‘menu’ for my ‘experiences’
In this world where everything can be monetised and marketed, I prefer to see my website as a puzzle, as a way to be creative, a little piece of the digital world I have control over. A place to voice my opinion.
Recipes? Pictures of my travels eventually? Show you that I’m a real human being? Woah. Steady ON, PAL.
Perhaps this is a joke we play on ourselves to forget even for a second that bills, health and rent are a thing.
How whimsical it would be to step away from attempts to put myself out there for the right kind of person.
It’s still good to dream, right?
In relation to my above point about monetisation and marketing: I’m already on a bunch of ad websites that advertise my dates/services/experiences. These are costly and are at the footer of this website that I pay for annually.
One of these ad websites has now introduced a tool that is designed to help potential suitors feel more at ease with spending time with me.
I’m invited (optionally) to upload a picture of myself on to that platform, holding a sign, for every member of that site to see, which is what I’ve already done numerous times for so many advertising platforms already including that very one.
Whoever is reading this can be assured that I do indeed have verification fatique.
My opinion on this practice is that I simply prefer clients to prove their identity to me and not the opposite.
Screen and pay your deposit immediately!
This makes me feel safer to meet with you. It is the absolute baseline.
I’ve ‘put myself out there’ and have verified myself around 5-8 times,
I’d now like to ask you politely to do this for me one time, for my safety.
Lastly:
1) If you need to see a picture of me holding up a sign; that is to say, if you do not believe my instagram, website, reddit + other pictures are not an accurate presentation of who I am, then perhaps you need to book an online service with me, so you can see me on your phone - live!

2) I forgot completely that I have made a verification video before: Click Here

My actions are already vast - registering on several ad platforms with my photos, alongside managing a website, writing blogposts such as this one you’re reading and fielding booking requests from a wide array of people, including timewasters who brandish their false skepticism and desire for my free time like a well worn fedora.
tldr; Clients should screen and deposit with ‘gusto and vigour’ and platforms should not incentivise the reverse of this practice in my humble opinion.
